Finding a good frying pan is super important, whether you are moving out, getting married, or just needing to replace an old one.

We cook so many different things on frying pans, so it's as much an investment as a good set of knives.

Top 4 best frying pans

  1. Calphalon Hard-Anodized Aluminum Frying pan (Best overall non-stick frying pan)
  2. Lodge Pre-seasoned Cast Iron Skillet (best cast iron skillet)
  3. Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Skillet (best enameled cast iron)
  4. All-Clad Stainless Frying pan with lid (best stainless steel frying pan)
  1. Calphalon Hard-Anodized Aluminum Frying pan
calphalon non stick frying pan

Calphalon frying pans are probably our favorite for a few different reasons. They are easy to clean, great non-stick pans, and they are oven safe.

Our favorite recipes to use it with: easy beef goulash recipe, pan seared steak, bacon cheeseburger macaroni

What we like:

  • Oven safe up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Even cooking throughout the entire pan.
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Deep frying pan makes it multi-purpose for sautéing vegetables, stir fry, or just cooking some pancakes.
  • Calphalon offers a lifetime warranty.

What we don't like:

  • It doesn't come with a lid. Frying bacon, steak is a lot less messy when you can put a lid on the pan.
  • You need to use heat-safe silicone or wooden cooking utensils, because otherwise this pan will scratch.

2. Lodge Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet

This cast-iron skillet is a kitchen staple especially among many foodies, food bloggers, and chefs. This heavy-duty pan does require a little care when cleaning and seasoning it, but well-worth the effort!

Our favorite recipes to use it with: chocolate chip skillet cookie, deep dish skillet pizza

What we like:

  • Oven safe, grill safe, campfire safe
  • Can be used with induction cooktops.
  • Very even heating throughout the pan.

What we don't like:

  • Cast iron pans can't be put in dishwashers.
  • You need to rub a layer of cooking oil after you wash and dry your pan.

3. Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Skillet

This enameled cast-iron skillet is the best of both worlds. Very easy to clean, you won't need to season this like you would a traditional cast iron skillet. It also has two handles which makes it very easy to hold and move into and out of the oven.

What we like:

  • Oven safe
  • The enamel coating means you won't need to keep seasoning your pan with oil.
  • It has two handles for a more firmer hold which comes in handing when you are removing it from the oven.
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Very even heating throughout the pan.

What we don't like

  • Le Creuset is very expensive.

4. All-Clad Stainless Frying Pan

all-clad stainless steel frying pan

This stainless steel pan from All-Clad comes with an inset lid which helps keep the moisture. It's also safe to use in the oven and even on broiler setting to really get a crispy finish.

What we like:

  • Oven safe up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Broiler safe
  • Comes with an inset lid which helps with messes.
  • Even heat distribution.
  • All-Clad offers a lifetime warranty.

What we don't like:

  • Hand washing is recommended.
  • The handle is awkward to use especially when you are removing it from the oven.
  • You will want to pre-heat your stainless steel pan to prevent sticking.
