Peanut Butter Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 8oz package cream cheese
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 16oz container of cool whip
1 (9 inch) graham cracker crust
Directions:
The first step in making this peanut butter pie is to add the powdered sugar and cream cheese into a mixing bowl. You will then want to whip the two together for at least 3-5 minutes or until creamy in texture.
The next step is adding in the creamy peanut butter. Again, you will want to mix this for a few minutes. It will resemble that of a peanut butter cookie dough.
The final step to making this peanut butter pie is to add in the cool whip. Start out by adding in half of the container. When this has been mixed thoroughly, add in the other half of the cool whip.
Scoop the mixture into a graham cracker crust. You can serve right away or referigerate it for an hour to make the slices come out easier!
(Optional) If you are really wanted to wow your guests, you can melt some peanut butter and drizzle it on top of a slice of peanut butter pie. Also, you can top it with some chocolate chips!

Ok in making 1 pie u say 16oz. Cool whip?? As I have EVERYTHANG out to start making and I am like is that RIGHT? Seems a bit much for 1 pie??? Hey I dk I am ASKING to be on safeside!!!
Joanna Stephens
Yep, it does seem like a lot, but this makes it extra creamy tasting. If you want more of a peanut butter flavor, you can get away with only adding 8 oz. It’s up to you, but I always use the whole 16oz and it’s like a peanut butter ice cream in a graham cracker crust. 🙂

Can I make this pie a day before serving?
Joanna Stephens
Yes, just keep it in the freezer. The day of, put it in the refrigerator to thaw out for about an hour, and then it should be ready to eat!!

Crystal
Do I need to have the cream cheese at room temperature? Does the cool whip need to be defrosted in the fridge? Going to make this for Thanksgiving tomorrow!
Joanna Stephens
Hi Crystal, you will definitely want the cool whip in the refrigerator. The cream cheese can be at room temperature but isn’t necessary (it might just take longer to mix the cream cheese and the powdered sugar together.)
Savannah
Just wondering what size pie crust I should use for this?
Joanna Stephens
I just use a 9 inch graham cracker crust. If you use a bigger crust the filling won’t be as high.
Lois
This was absolutely delicious!! I , too, questioned 16oz cool whip but I loved the creamy texture after it was all whipped together!! LOVE the recipe – and so simple!!
Lauren
I’ve been using your recipe for a while. Crowd favorite and easy to make. I follow the recipe to a T. I like using store bought oreo crust and adding syrup on top. One of my no fail recipes.
