Cheeseburger Macaroni with Bacon
Cheeseburger macaroni is a delicious meal. It's easy to make, and there are so many variations you can do.
What we decided to do was add some bacon to this classic cheeseburger macaroni...because you can never go wrong with adding bacon!
I will note though, we left the bacon in half size pieces which made it a little trickier to eat, so you might want to cut then in half and then half again.
Cheeseburger Macaroni with Bacon Recipe
Ingredients:
½ pound bacon
1 pound ground beef
3 cups water
2 cups elbow macaroni noodles
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon salted butter
¼ cup milk
2 cup shredded Colby & Monterrey Jack cheese blend
Directions:
The first thing you will do is cook the ground beef. You can add seasoning if you like, but the bacon added to this cheeseburger macaroni will give it enough of a salty taste.
Then, you will want to cook your bacon. You can either cook the bacon in whole strips and then cut them down to size or you can start off with smaller pieces first.
When the hamburger is done, let it drain all the grease from the meat using a strainer/colander. Then, quickly clean the same frying pan (or even a quick rub with a wet washcloth should do the trick) and add your water into it.
Place some salt in the frying pan with water and turn the heat on medium high. It will start to boil, and you can then add in your macaroni noodles.
When the macaroni noodles are cooked, most of the water should be evaporated from the frying pan. If there is any remaining, you can strain these.
Here's where it gets good! Add butter, milk and shredded cheese to the macaroni noodles.
Once the butter has melted almost all the way, you can add the hamburger.
Give it a good stir, and then add in your bacon. That's really all there is to it!
This cheeseburger macaroni with bacon recipe makes enough for 4-6 people, depending on how big of portions you scoop.
