Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This slow cooker pot roast recipe you will want to use over and over again. It is flavorful and super easy to make!

Not only that, this meat is so tender that it will almost melt in your mouth.

As a mom, I am always after a good slow cooker recipe because of convenience and this recipe hits the number on convenience but also taste.

In an effort to fully disclose, this recipe contains affiliate links. This means if you purchase something, I receive a commision. For more information, see my Disclosure page.

Now back to the recipe! This recipe was made without potatoes or carrots, but you are more than welcome to add them to your slow cooker.

I have found that when you cook the meat by itself and it is completely covered in the liquid, its a lot more tender.

That being said, just make sure to include 1 cup of water in your slow cooker if you decide to put potatoes and carrots in with this pot roast.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe

Ingredients:

2.5lb chuck roast

1/2 cup Worchestershire saucethe ingredients needed for this pot roast including balsamic vinegar, worchestershire sauce, liquid smoke, and 2 packages of brown gravy mixes all by a bowl

1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar

1/2 cup Liquid Smoke

2 Packages of brown gravy mix

1 Tbsp minced garlic

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1/2 tsp paprika

1 Tbsp olive oil

Directions:

I am all about the fewer steps the better when it comes to a crock pot meal, but this first part is ESSENTIAL. Mix salt, pepper, and paprika in a bowl and slather it on both sides of chuck roast.

Then, in a large frying pan, add the olive oil and brown all the outer edges of this slow cooker pot roast. This helps seal in the juices and flavor. You simply want a nice brown on all of the edges.

Place the slow cooker pot roast in the prepared crockpot (and by prepared, I simply mean use a crock pot bag–makes clean up a breeze).

You can most likely find them in your grocery store aisle with the ziploc bags or you can find it find it here on Amazon (because sometimes shopping online is just easier).

Next, you will want to add worchestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, and liquid smoke into a small bowl. Add the 2 packages of gravy mix and whisk until fully incorporated.

Then lastly, add the minced garlic and stir/whisk for about 30 seconds. Pour this liquid over the slow cooker pot roast, it should cover most of the meat so that it doesn’t dry out.

Finally, put the lid on and cook on high for 4-6 hours. For a longer cook time, cook on low for 6-8 hours. Then ENJOY!
