Bacon Pizza Recipe
Ingredients:
Pizza Crust
¾ cup warm water
1 package active dry yeast
1tsp granulated sugar
½ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups all-purpose flour
Toppings
1 16oz package bacon
½ cup pizza sauce or prego roasted garlic parmesan
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
¼ cup salted butter (melted)
Directions:
Pizza Crust
In a medium bowl, add the warm water and yeast. Whisk with a fork for about a minute and then let it sit for about 10 minutes until the mixture starts looking real frothy. Next, add in the sugar, salt, and olive oil. Mix this together for about 2 minutes and then add in your flour. When all the flour is combined, you will want to place it on a floured surface to knead. After a few minutes, you can place it in an oiled bowl to rise for about 40 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
When the dough has finished rising, roll the dough out on a floured surface and then place it on a pizza pan with parchment paper (to avoid messy overspills). Then roll the edges of the pizza crust up just enough that it can hold up your toppings. Then, pre-bake this crust for about 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Let it cool, but don't worry if the crust is still a little doughy as you are going to be putting it back in the oven again!
Next, you will bake your bacon. I like to line these 2 cookies sheets with aluminum foil and then parchment paper as it makes for easy clean up. Then, bake the bacon at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 16-18 minutes. Again, don't worry if the bacon is not super crispy, because it will be going back in the oven. Then, cut the bacon strips into fairly large pieces (I cut mine in half, and then half again).
Slather some of your favorite pizza sauce (we used Prego Roasted Garlic Parmesan) onto the pre-baked pizza crust.
Once you have spread the pizza sauce evenly over the pie crust, you will sprinkle a thin layer of mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Then you will add the baked bacon on top of the cheese.
This bacon pizza isn't done yet! Add another layer of cheese and bacon. Seriously, you cannot have too much bacon on a bacon pizza. If you can't tell, I am not a fan of the pizza's where there are barely enough toppings on them!
Next, you should bake the bacon pizza at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 20 minutes. Brush the edges of the pizza halfway through the cooking time with melted butter and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Then return it back to the oven for the final 10 minutes. This will leave your pizza crust crispy and crunchy from the parmesan that melts.
There you have it! A bacon pizza that anyone would eat...unless they don't like bacon and which case than you don't need that kind of negativity in your life ;).

The first thing you will do is bake the bacon. Yeah, you read that right...BAKE it. What I do is line 2 cookie sheets with aluminum foil and place the bacon on the sheets. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 16-18 minutes or until the bacon is to your crispy enough. Then cut into fairly large sections. I like to know I'm eating bacon so I don't want it in bits.
-
Then, spread the pizza sauce onto a pre-baked pizza crust. I used Prego Roasted Garlic Parmesan sauce and it was DELICIOUS! Then, you will sprinkle a thin layer of mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. Next you will add the bacon on top of the cheese. The bacon pizza isn't done yet! Add another layer of cheese and bacon. Seriously, you cannot have too much bacon on a bacon pizza.
