Peanut Butter Rice Crispy Treats
I think I have said this once before, but peanut butter is a big thing in my family.
We eat it out of the jar (with a spoon of course), with bananas, and I love using it in recipes: peanut butter cookies, and no-bake cookies. So why not put peanut butter into rice crispy treats? So...I did.

How to make Rice Crispy Treats without marshmallows?
Fair warning, there isn't marshmallows in this recipe because marshmallows are used to hold the cereal together, but the peanut butter in this recipe does the same thing!
Peanut Butter Rice Crispy Treats Ingredients
Here's what you need to make these peanut butter treats:
- 1 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
- 3Tbsp Salted Butter
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 3 tablespoon Milk
- 3 Cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 3 tablespoon Chocolate chips (optional)
How to make peanut butter rice crispy treats
Measure out all your ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, and have them ready to make things easier on you. Then, lay a piece of wax paper out on a cookie sheet, and also tear off a second sheet and set aside.
Next, add in the peanut butter (1 cup), butter (3 Tbsp), powdered sugar (1 cup) and milk (3 Tbsp) to a medium sauce pan. Heat over medium-low heat until all the ingredients are smooth.
Then, add the rice crispy cereal (3 cups) to the pan, stiring until fully incorporated. Next, spoon out the peanut butter rice crispy treats mixture onto a wax paper.
With the second sheet of wax paper, form out a square from the peanut butter rice crispy treats mixture (wax paper doesn't stick).
When you have a shape resembling a long rectangle (doesn't have to be perfect, unless you want it to), you can let it cool on your countertop for a few mintues.
Next, place 3 tablespoon chocolate chips in a small ziploc bag and seal the bag. Dip the bag in a bowl of hot water until the chocolate chips start to melt.
Then, cut a tiny corner off and pipe the melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter rice crispy treats.
Finally, let it cool for about 10-15 minutes in the refrigerator. Then cut your large rectangle into smaller squares.
