What you need to make chocolate cheesecake

To make this chocolate cheesecake, I opted to use a standard 9 inch cheesecake pan. You could also use a prepared graham cracker crust if you don't have a cheesecake pan.

For the crust:

  • 25 oreo cookies
  • 6 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder

For the filling:

  • 24 oz cream cheese
  • 1 ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream

How to make no bake chocolate cheesecake

1. Start by crushing the oreos up in a food processor. Alternatively, you could crush them up in a large ziploc bag with a rolling pin.

2. Mix the oreo crumbs together with cocoa powder and melted butter. The crumbly mixture should start to come together.

3. Press this into the bottom of a cheesecake pan. Then, place it in the refrigerator while you work on the filling.

4. Combine the cream cheese, sugar, and cocoa powder into a large mixing bowl. Cream this altogether for about 4 or 5 minutes depending on how cold your cream cheese is.

5. Then, add in your vanilla extract and heavy cream. Whisk again for another 1-2 minutes. Make sure you are scraping the sides of the bowl so that all the cocoa powder is being mixed in.

6. Scoop this chocolate cheesecake filling into the prepared pan with the chocolate Oreo crust. Cover this pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours. The longer its in the refrigerator, the easier it is to pull out of the pan.

7. With a knife, gently scrape around the edge of the pan to help release the cheesecake. Then, remove the side of the pan slowly.

8. Slice your cheesecake into pieces and drizzle with your favorite toppings or leave it plain. It still tastes amazing!
