This apple bread is so delicious, and perfect for a light snack or breakfast! The cinnamon mixed with the apple chunks are what really makes this a hit.

What is the best apple to use?

It really all depends on how sweet you like your foods. For a tart apple in this sweet bread, I use granny smity and sometimes honeycrisp.

If you prefer a sweet apple, than you can choose a red delicious, or a gala apple. Don’t stress though, this bread is flexible to work with any kind!

What do you need to make this apple bread?

  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups apples, diced and peeled

How to make this apple cinnamon bread?

Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. My oven usually is ready by the time the apple bread batter is, but adjust when you turn your oven on accordingly.

Then, melt your butter in a microwave-safe bowl until it’s all the way melted, or mostly. Pour this into a large mixing bowl. Add in the brown sugar and mix for 3 minutes until it’s a uniform consistency.

Next, add in your egg and milk and mix this again for 1 minute. This helps let the batter start to look lighter.

Then, add in your cinnamon and baking powder. I like to add these in before the flour because it lets it get incorporated evenly throughout.

Mix this together for about a minute and then you can add in your flour. Start with 1/2 cup at a time, so that the flour won’t get stuck to the sides of the bowl.

When all the flour has been mixed into the batter, you will then add the apple chunks. I use a rubber spatula to mix them into the batter so they don’t get broken up.

Grease a loaf pan, and then scoop all of the batter into it. Bake for 38-40 minutes or until a toothpick is inserted comes out clean. I try to rotate the pan half-way through cooking so it cooks nice and evenly.

Let it cool before serving! Make sure to wrap up any leftovers with plastic wrap to keep it fresh.

For a fun twist, try adding my salted caramel sauce to the top of the bread for an AMAZING flavor!
