This gooey chocolate chip skillet cookie is the perfect dessert for a family or dinner party! Made with browned butter, this is the BEST chocolate chip cookie you will ever eat.
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, melt your butter in a small frying pan of medium heat. It will then start to foam and then a light brown color will emerge. Let cool slightly.
Pour the slightly cooled browned butter into a large mixing bowl. Then, mix in the brown sugar and granulated sugar.
Next, add in the milk and vanilla extract. Mix for about 30 seconds.
Then, add in your egg. Whisk on medium high speed for 1-2 minutes.
Add in your baking soda to the bowl and whisk lightly just to get it evenly distributed.
Mix your flour in ½ cup at a time. Then, add in your chocolate chips with a rubber spatula so you don't break them up.
Lightly grease the cast-iron skillet with butter or cooking spray and then scoop the dough into the pan.
Using the back of a spoon, flatten the dough into the pan so it's even.
Bake your chocolate chip skillet cookie for 18-20 minutes. Don't overcook it because cast iron skillets retain a lot of heat and will continue to bake the cookie even out of the oven.
