These delicious pecan pie bars will quickly become your family's favorite dessert!
Start by making the pie crust, if you are using a store bought crust then simply place it in the bottom of a 9x12 inch cake pan.
Cut your butter and cream cheese into cubes then place in a medium bowl.
Add in your flour and sugar. Then using a pastry blender or two forks, cut the flour into the butter and cream cheese until crumbly.
Then, add in the water. Knead the dough with the palms of your hands until the dough starts to come together. Then, refrigerate the dough for 10 minutes.
Roll the dough into a rectangle and place in your 9x12 inch cake pan.
Pre-bake the pie crust at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes.
Combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and dark corn syrup in a large mixing bowl. Whisk together for about 2 minutes.
Then, add in your vanilla extract, and eggs. Whisk again for another couple minutes and then add in your flour.
Finally, pour in your chopped pecans. Stirl this with a rubber spatula and then pour into your cake pan with the pre baked pie crust.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 32-34 minutes. The edges will bet set, but the center my still be gooey.
Completely cool the cake pan, then place it in the refrigerator for at least an hour to chill. This also helps the bars come out cleaner when you cut them.
