2.5lb chuck roast
1/2 cup Worchestershire sauce
1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1/2 cup Liquid Smoke
2 Packages of brown gravy mix
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1 Tbsp olive oil
I am all about the fewer steps the better when it comes to a crockpot meal, but this first part is ESSENTIAL. Mix salt, pepper, and paprika in a bowl and slather it on both sides of chuck roast. Then, in a large frying pan, add the olive oil and brown all the outer edges of the roast. This helps seal in the juices and flavor.
Place the roast in the prepared crockpot (and by prepared, I simply mean use a crock pot bag–makes clean up a breeze). You can most likely find them in your grocery store aisle with the ziploc bags or you can find it find it here on Amazon (because sometimes shopping online is just easier).
Next, you will want to add worchestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, and liquid smoke into a small bowl. Add the 2 packages of gravy mix and whisk until fully incorporated. Then lastly, add the minced garlic and stir/whisk for about 30 seconds. Pour this liquid over the soon to be mouth watering pot roast, it should cover most of the meat so that it doesn’t dry out.
Finally, put the lid on and cook on high for 4-6 hours. For a longer cook time, cook on low for 6-8 hours. Then ENJOY!
